A
pre-Series Two seater tourer that looks as if it would have preferred
to be a four seater. The Eight was introduced in 1934 was completely new
with a three bearing 918cc engine that was to continue through to the
post-war Minor. It was fitted with the same hydraulic brakes as the 1934
Minors it replaced.
A
pair of Series 1 Eight two door saloons. The first of the Series versions
introduced in 1935 differed only in detail from the original. The radiator
badge and mascot were the main visible changes, the badge was inscribed
with Morris 8 rather than Morris Eight. A conventional speedometer replaced
the ribbon type that the Eight had inherited from the Minor
Commercial
variants of the Eight are relatively rare these days although there are
a couple of vans that are to be seen on Morris Register events. The correct
wheels are similar to the early Minors and have small hub centres. They
differ form the earlier wheels in that they have a six, rather than three,
stud fixing.
A
pre-Series saloon is on the left, with a Series 2 two seater tourer next
to it. The Series 2 cars have Easiclean wheels and a painted radiator.
The series E tourer on the right was only made before the war.
